Wow, time sure can pass quickly! So much has happened in the last month so I thought I''d better update. (Actually, I thought our subscription to this ended after one year, but I guess I was wrong...so here I go again!) Kaylie has her first birthday party on April 5th and had a great time! She was a little tentative about eating the cake...not quite sure what it was...but after getting a taste, she kept right on eating! When her fingers became too messy, though, she wanted to quit! By that point she''d had plenty enough to give her a sugar high for the next couple hours! She received many nice gifts from everyone and we all had a great time! She even got to go eat happy joes pizza afterward! What a fun birthday!
Kaylie began taking a few steps around mid April, a few more in late April, and just this past weekend, she took off! We were at a wedding in Fargo on Saturday and she did not even want to sit down because she was having so much fun trying to keep up with the other kids! It was very fun to watch her. She even mastered the handicap ramp...well, the going up part anyway! Coming down she''d get going a little too fast and end up crashing at some point. She was getting it down after doing it about 20 times, though! Her cheeks were bright red from working so hard! She has never slept so well (nor have I) since this walking thing began! Two nights in a row now she as not woken up at her patented time of 2 a.m.! Yay!! It''s been more like 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., and I''m even having to wake her up so we can get ready in time in the mornings! That is the most exciting news of all, in my eyes! Kaylie is talking more and understands many words. She is quite the card and cracks us up all the time. She will stop ANYTHING when the "BOB" commercial comes on just so she can watch and also loves listening to "Metal Mania" on Saturday mornings while she plays with her toys. (It''s not TOO hard of metal, just 80s hair bands, mainly) She still loves going outside and "barks" at the puppies in our backyard all the time! I''m just so glad now that she''s walking because we''ve already ruined a few pairs of nice pants with her crawling in the dirt or on the pavement! She can even stand up to walk by herself, and if we try help her, she''ll sit back down again just so she can do it on her own. She sure has a mind of her own already! Anyway, I have a patient or two waiting, so I better go. I really hope to get some pictures up soon. We''ll see what the weekend brings. It won''t be until then, though, because American Idol is on tonight and tomorrow, then it''s the season finale of The Office, and then it''s FRIDAY, and then We''ll See!!!!
